RESM angle encoder offers accuracy, resolution, and repeatability at high speed and high temperature. It also offers ultra-low cyclic error and the IN-TRAC™ optical reference mark. The RESM angle encoder offers performance to suit the most demanding precision applications.
The TONiC incremental encoder range includes a variety of 'standard' special products which are designed to match the demands of particular rotary applications. Furthermore, Renishaw can provide a number of customer-specific modifications to meet your needs, please contact your local representative to discuss custom options.
TONiC™ is also available as a linear encoder. RESM ring features and benefits
The RESM ring is a one-piece stainless steel ring with 20 µm scale marked directly on the periphery, which features the IN-TRAC™ auto-phase optical reference mark. The low profile RESM is available in a wide range of sizes (Ø52 mm to Ø550 mm) and line counts, all of which feature a large internal diameter for flexible integration.
- IN-TRAC™ auto-phase optical reference mark, bi-directionally repeatable at operational speeds over 3,600 rev/min (Ø52 mm) and up to 70°C
- A wide range of diameters and line counts provide compatibility with industry standard controllers (Ø52 mm to Ø550 mm with line counts from 8,192 to 86,400)
- Patented taper mount minimizes installation errors and simplifies integration
- Graduation accuracy to ±0.5 arc second and system repeatability to 0.02 arc second (20 nm TONiC™ system with a Ø413 mm ring)
- 10 mm x 10 mm small cross section ring
- Low mass, low inertia design enhances system accuracy and dynamic performance
- One piece stainless steel ring withstands vibration, mechanical and thermal shock, and thermal overload
- For even higher acceleration and deceleration, and faster settling times, extra-low inertia 'B' section rings are available
- For partial arc applications, customer positioned, dual optical limits are available
